DreamBuilders and The ARC of Howard County share a long-standing partnership to improve homes for developmentally and cognitively challenged individuals. Together, they foster community acceptance and inclusion for ARC clients.
On November 12 & 13, from 8:30am-4:00pm we will be renovating a group home in Columbia by replacing the kitchen floor and upgrading a damaged doorway to make it more appropriate and durable for wheelchair use. We need 10 volunteers each day to efficiently complete the project, so come join in! This project is open to youth seventh grade and older and adults. Lunch will be provided both days, and there is no cost to those volunteering. You will receive an email by November 10 with directions and tools needed as well as a liability waiver that must be signed by volunteer and parent (for all volunteers under 18). To get you started, tools should include – tool belt, hammer, safety glasses, square, pencil and tape measure.
